We Are Sourcing a HSE Advisor
On a full-time, permanent basis. Based at our facility in Westhill, Aberdeen, the HSE Advisor provides competent Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) advice and operational support to the Aberdeen business, working closely with site management, operational teams, and project personnel to promote safe working practices, manage operational risk, and ensure compliance with legal, client, and company requirements.
The role is responsible for supporting the effective implementation of the Claxton Integrated Management System (IMS), working with line management to identify hazards, reduce risks to ALARP through the application of the hierarchy of control, and drive continual improvement in HSE performance and culture. Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the HSE Advisor works collaboratively with operational teams to deliver HSE objectives, provide professional guidance, and contribute to the continual development of the company's HSE management system. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
