Site EHS Advisor | Norfolk
We're looking for an experienced Site EHS Advisor to support the safe delivery of major construction and energy projects in Norfolk. You'll provide on-site EHS leadership, conduct audits and inspections, support contractor management, deliver inductions and training, investigate incidents, and promote a strong safety culture. Ideal candidates will have a Health & Safety qualification, strong knowledge of UK legislation, and experience in construction, infrastructure, or energy environments.

Role Purpose
The Site EHS Advisor is responsible for providing professional Environmental, Health and Safety support to project teams, ensuring compliance with legal, client, and company requirements. The role promotes a strong safety culture, supports operational delivery, and works closely with site management to achieve a zero-harm working environment throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible EHS leadership and promote a positive safety culture across site activities.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of project EHS plans, procedures, and Safe Systems of Work.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and compliance checks, identifying and addressing risks and non-conformances.
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks, and EHS briefings, ensuring personnel understand project requirements.
- Review risk assessments and method statements, providing advice on appropriate control measures.
- Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with project EHS standards.
- Investigate incidents, hazards, and near misses, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Maintain EHS records, reports, and documentation in line with project and regulatory requirements.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including drills and emergency response arrangements.
- Prepare and communicate regular EHS performance reports to project stakeholders.
- Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or behaviours present an immediate risk to people, property, or the environment.

Essential Requirements
- Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Experience in a construction, infrastructure, energy, or industrial environment.
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable Qualifications
- Environmental Management qualification.
- Chartered IOSH membership (CMIOSH).
- CDM awareness/training.
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001).
- First Aid at Work.
- Experience within the energy or utilities sector.
