Supporting the Operations and Governance Manager in the delivery of Uniper and UK required SHE management systems both local and legislative at our PES site to deliver their vision of a Zero Harm Site.

Your responsibilities
- Ensure safety, health and environmental processes are compliant with statutory and company requirements.
- Management of the internal management system internal audit programs for SHE audits.
- Management and key point of contact for 2nd and 3rd party audits for ISO14001 and ISO45001 through LRQA and other internal and external customers in partnership with the wider FEN SHE Team.
- Responsible for the update of local legislative compliance evidence including update of aspects & impacts registers.
- Responsible for the promotion of a positive safety culture ensuring that safety issues and targets are met to support our Zero Harm aspiration.
- Responsibility for the identification of SHE training needs for the business, the development and delivery of a training plan.
- That internal SHE processes are updated and managed in line with changes in internal and external legislation and best practice.
- Taking a leading role in the investigation of incidents at PES and supporting the wider process to delivery where possible useful shared learning.
- To ensure that all relevant Safety and Health information and records are communicated to interested parties in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Responsible for the electronic risk assessment system and ensuring that risk assessments are available and updated in line with internal schedules.
- Supporting the wider business in the management of COSHH systems for all associated products used.
- Liaising with the occupational health team to ensure chronic prevention campaigns are progressed to support the health and wellbeing of the team.
- To assist the OG Manager in delivering a high level of Safety & Health and Environmental awareness within the business & delivery of associated training within the business unit.
- To offer advice on safety management and specific situations / projects.
- Identifying opportunities to improve the overall performance of the business.
- To support and facilitate subject meetings necessary to deliver the role.
- Supporting the OG Manager in the delivery of Management Review process.
- Other responsibilities as defined by the OG Manager.

Your profile
- A qualification (appropriate safety/engineering discipline) equivalent to ONC/NVQ level 3.
- Health and Safety management qualification NEBOSH Diploma (certificate minimum).
- Qualified auditor and able to effectively audit H&S systems and their application within the work place.
- Evidence of management of 3rd party audit to ISO45001, ISO14001 management standards and delivering value adding audit processes.
- An extensive understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation, policy and standards.
- Knowledge of current policies and procedures which affect the business.
- Able to demonstrate competence of contract management skills to enable effective working relationships.
- An understanding of the health, safety and environmental aspects of the management of external service provider’s activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of staff and contractors.
- The confidence and ability to challenge established practices, suggesting imaginative and effective solutions to problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships with the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
- Planning and organising skills to include effective prioritising and time management.
- A proven ability to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions.
- PC conversant and able to produce reports, data and presentations using Microsoft applications.
