We're looking for an experienced HSE, Maintenance & Facilities Manager to join our Operations team and play a pivotal role across our Silloth and Ayr sites.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of UK Operations, this role will be the subject matter expert for Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Facilities, and Maintenance, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards while driving a culture of continuous improvement. This is a highly visible leadership role where you'll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, including Operations, Technical, Production, and Executive Leadership teams.
You'll be responsible for creating and sustaining a proactive "Safety First" culture, ensuring site compliance, maintaining critical infrastructure, and leading maintenance activities that keep our operations safe, compliant, and efficient.

- Champion a positive safety-first culture across both sites, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Environmental, and Feed safety standards
- Lead Health & Safety systems, training, investigations, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning
- Manage environmental compliance, regulatory relationships, waste programmes, permits, and UFAS standards
- Oversee facilities, infrastructure, and maintenance activities, delivering preventative maintenance programmes and site improvement projects
- Manage contractors, facilities services, site security, and operational compliance
- Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team while managing departmental budgets, resources, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
Essential
- NEBOSH National General Certificate (minimum), with NEBOSH Diploma or CMIOSH highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and best practice
- Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance, engineering, or technical teams
- Experience implementing Lean manufacturing principles
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using CMMS systems and Microsoft Office reporting tools
Desirable
- IEMA membership or environmental qualification
- Engineering, Facilities, or IWFM qualification
- Knowledge of animal feed manufacturing and feed safety standards
- Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
- DSEAR awareness or qualification
- Experience working within a global matrix organisation
