Job Title: HSE Lead

About the Company

We are supporting a leading international energy operator on a flagship oil and gas project. The project is a major development with a strong focus on safety, operational excellence and delivering complex engineering activities to the highest industry standards.

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced HSE Lead to join the project team in London. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the management and delivery of HSE activities throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with the operator, contractors and wider project teams to ensure that HSE requirements are embedded across all project activities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile, technically complex project and play a key role in maintaining and improving HSE performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate HSE activities across the project.
  • Provide HSE leadership, guidance and support to project teams and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and project HSE requirements.
  • Develop, implement and monitor HSE plans, procedures and initiatives.
  • Support risk assessments, hazard identification and mitigation activities.
  • Monitor contractor HSE performance and ensure compliance with project expectations.
  • Participate in HSE reviews, audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture across the project.
  • Provide HSE input into project planning, engineering, construction and execution activities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, contractors and project management teams on HSE matters.
  • Track HSE performance and provide relevant reporting to project leadership.

About You

  • Extensive experience working in HSE roles within the oil and gas / energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation, standards and industry best practice.
  • Strong understanding of risk management, HSE assurance and contractor management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
