We're looking for a passionate and proactive HSE Officer to join our team and play a key role in delivering our ambitious Go For Zero vision. Working closely with operational leaders, site teams and our Central HSE function, you'll help drive a culture where safety, health and environmental excellence are embedded into every decision, every day.

What You'll Be Doing
Championing Health, Safety & Environmental Excellence
- Lead by example in promoting safe and sustainable working practices.
- Support the implementation of HSE policies, procedures and standards across site.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Embed a culture where everyone takes ownership of safety.
- Support the delivery of site and business-wide HSE objectives.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation, permits and company standards.
- Assist departments in completing and reviewing risk assessments.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Support the maintenance of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and related management systems.
- Identify risks and drive practical, effective improvements.

Incident Reduction & Continuous Improvement
- Support the investigation of incidents, near misses and safety concerns.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and lessons learned are shared.
- Use data and insights to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive improvements across key HSE metrics, including:
- DART Rate
- Incident Reduction
- Behavioural Safety Observations (Star Cards)
Training, Engagement & Culture
- Deliver engaging safety campaigns and awareness initiatives.
- Support the rollout of Go For Zero programmes and tools.
- Work with Learning & Development teams to ensure training remains effective and relevant.
- Coach managers and teams to take ownership of safety performance.
- Encourage employee engagement and participation in HSE initiatives.
Building Strong Partnerships
You'll work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across the business, including:
- Operations
- Engineering
- Technical
- Procurement
- Legal
- Project Teams
- Central HSE Team
By building strong relationships and sharing best practice, you'll help achieve both operational and safety objectives.
About You
You're a confident communicator who can influence at all levels and inspire others to make safety a daily habit.

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge constructively
- Ability to build strong relationships across multiple functions
- Genuine passion for health, safety and environmental excellence

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within FMCG, manufacturing or a similar operational environment.
- Experience working in a Health, Safety and Environmental role.
- Knowledge of HSE management systems and compliance frameworks.
- Audit and inspection experience.
- Experience supporting cultural change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Essential
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Level 3) or equivalent experience.
- Candidates currently studying towards NEBOSH certification are encouraged to apply.
Desirable
- IEMA Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent.
- Additional Health & Safety qualifications.
