Join Our Team

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated HSE Officer to join our team at Anwick.

Working closely with the HSE Manager, you will play a key role in promoting a positive health, safety and environmental culture across the site. You will provide expert advice, support compliance with legislation, assist with investigations and audits, and help drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone with health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced business.

Key Responsibilities

As HSE Officer, you will:

  • Support the HSE Manager in delivering health, safety and environmental objectives across the site.
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers and employees on HSE matters.
  • Assist with incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Produce HSE reports, statistics and management information.
  • Deliver safety awareness initiatives and training programmes.
  • Support managers in conducting risk assessments, inspections and audits.
  • Carry out workplace inspections and compliance audits.
  • Update health and safety communications and notice boards.
  • Maintain the QUOR database and generate reports as required.
  • Assist in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures.
  • Promote employee engagement with safety initiatives, including the Go For Zero campaign.
  • Act as deputy for the HSE Manager when required.
  • Work proactively to reduce environmental impacts, including waste reduction and recycling initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Minimum one year's experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience of accident and incident investigation and root cause analysis.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to coach, influence and support employees and managers.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems.

Desirable Qualifications And Experience

  • ISEP Foundation Certificate in Sustainability and Environmental Management.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or currently working towards it).
  • PUWER and machinery safety risk assessment experience.
  • Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG environments.
