HSE Professional – Onshore Wind Project

📍 Location: Near Sanquhar, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland

🏗️ Project: Vestas Onshore – Sanquhar II Wind Farm

📅 Contract: August/September 2026 – end of November 2026

🔄 Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, Monday–Sunday

💼 Contractor Position | Full-Time | Site-Based


We are currently seeking HSE Professionals to join the HSE Team on the Sanquhar II Onshore Wind Farm project in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

You will join HSE Team 2, working closely with the HSE team and Site Management to ensure a safe working environment and full compliance with UK legislation, CDM Regulations 2015, and Vestas HSE procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HSE professional with a strong construction and/or onshore wind background who is confident working on site, engaging with project teams, and proactively identifying and managing HSE risks.

Available Rotations

Position 1

  • Start date: 24 August 2026
  • Rotations: 4 x 2-week rotations
  • Schedule: Monday–Sunday

Position 2

  • Start date: 7 September 2026
  • Rotations: 3 x 2-week rotations
  • Schedule: Monday–Sunday

Both positions will continue through to the end of November 2026.

Key Responsibilities

As an HSE Professional, you will:

  • Maintain a strong onsite HSE presence and monitor daily activities to ensure safe working practices.
  • Work closely with supervisors, site management, contractors, and project teams to proactively identify and resolve safety issues.
  • Act as an HSE Subject Matter Expert, supporting internal and external stakeholders with HSE deliverables.
  • Advise site management on legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation, CDM Regulations 2015, and Vestas procedures.
  • Monitor HSE objectives, targets, and KPIs and ensure appropriate transparency and reporting.
  • Support the implementation and management of the incident management system.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Verify that work activities are appropriately covered by Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Lifting Plans, and other required documentation.
  • Provide HSE input into meetings and before work activities commence.
  • Implement and promote Vestas HSE policies and procedures onsite.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative safety culture.
  • Act as a proactive and approachable HSE ambassador across the project.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with project teams on HSE matters.
  • Deliver and support HSE training, including site inductions, drills, exercises, and safety campaigns.
  • Assist the HSE Manager with safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Support and participate in incident investigations.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • NEBOSH Construction or NEBOSH General Certificate/Diploma, or equivalent NVQ qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Valid UK CSCS Card, CCNSG, or CSR.
  • Valid GWO Working at Height & Rescue.
  • GWO First Aid / Enhanced First Aid.
  • GWO Fire Awareness.
  • GWO Manual Handling.
  • Valid OEUK Medical for Onshore Wind – no Chester Step required.
  • Own working-at-height PFPE, including:
    • Harness
    • Shock-absorbing lanyard
    • Work-positioning lanyard
    • Standard PPE suitable for working at height.
  • Previous experience in construction HSE, ideally within onshore wind or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with site teams, contractors, and management.
  • A proactive approach to identifying hazards and implementing practical safety solutions.

Rates & Benefits

  • Rates are set in line with current UK standards for onshore wind HSE work.
  • Additional monthly allowance provided to help offset project-related costs.
  • All-In rate: Transport and accommodation are arranged and paid for by the contractor.
  • Accommodation/transport options are available through arrangements already in place with the team currently on site.
  • Laptop provided by the client.
  • Full onboarding and operational support provided by Coyle Group's Operations Manager.
