HSE Team Manager – Utility Scale Solar Projects – Hybrid with Travel!
Our client is a leading international renewable energy company delivering large-scale solar projects across the UK and Europe. As their UK business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced HSE Team Manager to lead the development and implementation of health, safety, and environmental standards across their UK operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate HSE professional to join a business at the forefront of the energy transition, where you'll have the opportunity to influence strategy, develop high-performing teams, and help deliver some of the UK's most significant renewable energy projects.
Role Overview:
Reporting into the UK leadership team, you will take ownership of the Health, Safety & Environmental function, leading a team of on-site HSE/CDM Managers while driving continuous improvement across projects and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of HSE/CDM Managers across multiple UK projects.
- Drive a positive safety culture and ensure accountability for HSE performance across all sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and spot checks to maintain high safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Manage performance reviews and support the ongoing development of the HSE team.
- Provide HSE expertise during tender submissions, PQQs, RFQs, and ITTs.
- Design and deliver HSE training for site teams and operational staff.
- Collaborate with Project Delivery and ESG teams to enhance HSE performance across the business.

Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Several years' HSE experience covering construction, infrastructure, or major engineering projects, ideally with some in utility-scale solar.
- Strong knowledge of UK CDM Regulations and site-based HSE management.
- Experience leading or developing HSE teams.
- Knowledge of incident investigation, auditing, inspections, and HSE reporting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, organised, and solution-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
