Site based at Yeovil Mon to Fri with some travel to a further local site and facility in Cornwall, please note travel to Cornwall would be irregular

About Us

Here at ISS as a leading Facilities Management (FM) provider, we are looking to recruit an established HSEQ Lead to join our client's major site in Yeovil, Somerset.

The customer are a large defence sector manufacturer and this site is crucial to their UK operation, home to critical manufacturing and assembly of airborne weapon systems

About the Role

Working for ISS as the client's Facilities Management partner you will be the HSEQ Lead, ensuring staff safety across the site's general facilities, whether that be Engineering Maintenance, site cleaning, Project CDM works etc. There is a focus on Engineering here, so any familiarity of "Hard FM" or Engineering in the built environment would be very useful.

You will also line manage a small team including a Fire Safety Lead.

This is a fantastic site for an established HSEQ Lead to work on a major, complex site working for ISS as a leader in the built environment space supporting a prestigious defence sector client

Actions

  • Development and proactive management of an account specific HSEQ plan to drive continuous improvement
  • Support, coach and mentor the account operational teams to enhance HSEQ focus and drive shared ownership
  • Ensure adherence to the ISS UK Integrated Management System and client specific processes
  • Embed ISS HSEQ programmes such as SafeChoice & Near Hits and support UK&I HSEQ Strategy delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior HSEQ management on the development of AssessNet and similar system
  • Closely support local ISS management with incident investigations to identify root causes and associated actions
  • Drive environmental compliance including Aspects & Impacts process
  • Control of Contractors – responsibility for developing the process, account wide training and governance to ensure the process is adhered to and opportunities for improvement are identified/escalated
  • Implementation and management of internal audit and inspection programme
  • Close communications with ISS and client key stakeholders across all sites within the account to develop relationships, build trust and to drive collaboration to enhance HSEQ culture.

  • Clear HSEQ experience with a focus on Engineering
