Job Title: HSQE Advisor
Salary: £40,194 – basic and car allowance
Department: HSQE
Location: Solihull
Contract: Fixed Term Contract (up to 12 months)
Hours: 37 Hours per Week
Role Purpose
To provide assistance to the company’s Head of HSQE and Site Contract Managers within designated contracts at JLR Solihull.

Provide leadership for HSQE within the contracts.

To develop and implement HSQE best practice.

Promote compliance with Leadec Limited values and HSQE policies.

Ensure compliance with current HSQE legislation as well as compliance with the customers' H&S policies and procedures.

Build effective relationships within the teams of personnel on site, including the customers, as well as colleagues at other customer sites and within the business support functions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Delivery
- Always promote Health and Safety to both internal and external customers.
- Seek out opportunities for improvement whilst maintaining service levels.
- Maintain and develop HSQE measures with a view to exceeding customers' expectations.
- Satisfy the requirements of Leadec Limited whilst ensuring the customers’ demands are fulfilled.
- Drive and achieve key internal and customer KPIs with regards to safety and training.
Collaboration
- Fully understand Leadec’s and the customer’s HSQE program, including accident and near miss reporting and safety audits.
- Carry out the required behavioural safety audits, attend Leadec site safety meetings.
- Ensure timely HSQE updates are provided to the HSQE manager on HSQE performance using appropriate tracking and data systems.

Empowerment
- Set up audit schedules.
- Monitor audit activities – reporting on and creating action plans.
- Conduct frequent internal audits.
- Create audit reports and action plans and follow up on all action plans.
Moving Forward
- Assist the business with the provision of in-house training for the following areas:
- Toolbox talks
- Manual handling training
- Risk assessment training
- Any other safety training as required/identified
Internal and External Relationships
- Provide assistance to the company’s HSQE manager and Site Contract Managers.
Planning, Organising and Resources Managed
- Risk Assessment and Safe Working Methods
- Support sites in the maintenance of suitable and sufficient risk assessments and safe working methods – create reports and action plans, follow up on all action plans.
- Accident/Incident reporting ensuring accurate and timely incident notification to the HSQE Manager.
- Collation of data for reporting purposes, review of accident/incident investigations.
- Supporting sites with investigations as required.
- Support Leadec Supervisory Staff and Line Management in tracking and resolution of non-compliance at customer sites.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential:
- NEBOSH National General Certificate or above.
- Working knowledge of country HSE Legislation.
- Previous supervisory knowledge.
- Health and Safety process and guidelines (Safety systems support).
- 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management systems.
- Quality systems (ISO-9001).
- Environmental systems (ISO 14001).

Desirable:
- Formal internal auditor qualifications.
- ‘Train the trainer’.
Skills, Abilities and Personal Qualities
Essential:
- A HSQE background is essential. A general awareness of industrial process and principles will be an advantage as will the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent PC skills.
