HSSE Officer- Immingham- Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HSSE Officer to join our Immingham team. Reporting to the HSSE Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the safe, compliant and environmentally responsible operation of our terminals. Working closely with operational teams, contractors and management, you will help ensure compliance with health, safety, security and environmental legislation while promoting a positive HSSE culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory compliance
- Assist in the dissemination of advice on compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation
- Support management teams with regulatory interventions
- Assist with Seveso/COMAH Safety Report writing
- Assist in providing SHE advice and support to management of change processes
- To identify potential hazards and assess associated risks with all Immingham Terminals activities. Ensure suitable and sufficient risk assessments are undertaken of all aspects of the Terminals activities, with special regard for those with Major Accident Potential.
- Manage Site induction process
- To ensure that Contractor control on the Terminals is maintained to the highest possible standard
- Maintain the Terminal’s Permit to Work system and associated procedures
- Ensure suitable PPE / RPE is procured, controlled and issued to all personnel to enable them to undertake their duties
- Represent the SHE Team in company discussion forums and focus groups.
- Represent the company and promote best practice on external committees and working groups.
- Provide SHE-related content for internal conferences and discussion forms.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture through campaigns and sharing best practice.
- Assist in providing general advice on:
- Chemicals/ product hazards and safe handling
- Occupational health and safety, including noise / COSHH and RPE
- Process safety
- Environment i.e. Occupational health/COSHH / asbestos, emissions to air/sea/water, EPR Permitted processes
- Prepare and deliver SHE related presentations and training materials
- Auditing – participate in SHE audits and prepare reports.
- Monitor and analyse data, and report on health and safety performance.
- Participate in incident investigations
- Assist with risk assessments and site safety and environmental surveys.

About You
You will be a proactive and motivated HSSE professional with strong communication skills and a passion for driving safe and sustainable operational practices. You will enjoy working collaboratively across teams and have the confidence to influence and support colleagues at all levels. To be successful in this role, you will hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification and have a minimum of three years' experience in a health, safety and environmental role. You will possess strong knowledge of occupational and process safety within a high-hazard environment, a good understanding of COMAH regulations, and practical experience of permit-to-work systems and contractor management. In addition, you will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational, analytical and IT capabilities, and a collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

About the Benefits
- Salary £42,000-£47,000 depending on experience
