£38,625 per annum + Benefits | Bath

Permanent | Full Time | 40 hours per week|Including evenings and weekends

Onsite at hub with occasional travel

Purpose of the Job

The Hub Operations Manager leads the day-to-day running of our community café and events operation, making sure every customer enjoys a warm welcome and a high-quality experience. Working closely with the Hub General Manager, the role grows the Hub as a thriving, welcoming space that brings the community together, supports Trusted Customer Services and contributes to Curo’s financial resilience. It’s a hands-on leadership role for someone who takes ownership, brings ideas and helps shape what the Hub becomes.

What will I do?

Operations and Service Delivery

  • Manage the day-to-day café and events catering operation, keeping standards of product quality, customer experience and service consistency high at all times.
  • Take on duty management shifts and deputise for the Hub General Manager when they’re away, leading the venue confidently and safely.
  • Maintain effective inventory and stock control, keeping waste to a minimum and stock at the right levels.
  • Keep equipment, facilities and the overall site looking their best, so the Hub is always somewhere people want to be.

Customer Experience And Community

  • Deliver a consistently excellent experience for every customer, resolving feedback and issues professionally and quickly.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships with customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Keep an eye on market trends and customer preferences, using what you learn to keep the Hub’s offer fresh and relevant.

Commercial and Financial Performance

  • Develop and deliver business plans that grow sales, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Support strong financial performance through budgeting, reporting and cost control.
  • Manage labour costs, scheduling and rota planning with the Front of House team, Duty Managers and General Manager, keeping the operation efficient.

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Make sure the venue meets all health, safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a 5 star Food Standards Agency rating and strong general venue health and safety.
  • Put in place and uphold clear operational policies and procedures.

People Leadership and Culture

  • Recruit, train and supervise Front of House and Back of House team members and a pool of casual staff, building a capable and motivated team.
  • Support your team’s development through coaching, performance reviews and career progression planning.
  • Lead in a way that reflects Curo’s values, creating a positive, inclusive culture where people enjoy their work and do their best.

Essential – Experience And Qualifications

  • Experience leading operations in a café, hospitality, catering or events environment.
  • Hands-on kitchen experience, with the ability to provide chef and kitchen cover during holidays, absence or busy periods to maintain operations.
  • Experience supervising, motivating and developing teams in a fast-paced, customer facing setting.
  • Experience of duty management in a mixed-use or multi-purpose venue.
  • A good working knowledge of health, safety and food hygiene standards.
  • Experience handling people-related matters such as team meetings and performance reviews.
  • A solid grasp of KPIs, labour percentages and basic financial reporting, with the awareness to support forecasting and cost control.
