The role
You’ll lead HubSpot solutions design and implementation for Blend’s clients. That means running discovery, turning business requirements into system architecture, directing the build across HubSpot’s Hubs and AI tools, and seeing it through testing, training and adoption.
This isn’t a configuration role. You’ll start with the business problem and design the system to meet it: data models, automation architecture, pipeline design, integrations. You’ll personally handle some of the most technically complex parts of the build - custom-coded actions, UI extensions, agent configurations - while directing and quality-assuring the build and development work done by the wider team. Then you’ll make sure the client can operate it.
You’ll be the primary technical authority on your engagements: the person clients trust to understand their operations and design a system that works. You’ll assist scoping work before it’s sold, own quality through delivery, and hand over systems with the training and documentation that set them up to be used.
What you’ll do
Solutions discovery and design
You’ll lead discovery with clients to understand their current operations, map their processes, and identify where HubSpot solves real problems. You’ll produce solution designs: data model, pipeline and lifecycle architecture, process flows, automation logic, and integration requirements - documents a non-technical stakeholder can follow and a technical colleague can build from.
Build and implementation
You’ll personally handle the work that needs senior technical judgement: custom-coded actions, programmable automation, custom UI extensions, API integration specs, and agent configurations. For standard configuration - properties, lists, forms, basic workflows, routine reporting — you’ll brief the team, review their work, and make sure it holds together as one coherent system built to your design.
Across both, you’ll make sound architectural decisions: when to use native features, when to extend with code, and when to integrate with external systems. Data integrity runs through everything. You’ll design clean data structures and enforce the standards that keep the platform trustworthy as it scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Testing, enablement and adoption
You own quality from design through go-live. You’ll generate the test plan against the solutions design, run QA, and review the team’s results. You’ll facilitate client UAT, triage and resolve defects, and manage go-live readiness. Post-launch, you’ll oversee and support client training and build enablement materials that support adoption - walkthroughs, reference docs, recorded sessions.
Client communication
You’ll be the primary technical contact on implementation engagements. You’ll run kick-offs, discovery workshops, working sessions, status calls and some training sessions. You’ll present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and credibly, manage expectations on scope and timeline, and navigate the conversations that come up when requirements shift mid-project.
Supporting colleagues
You’ll brief team members on the build, review their work against your design, and help them get better at what they do. That means sharing useful patterns, catching mistakes early, and explaining the reasoning behind architectural decisions so people learn from the work, not just execute it. This isn’t a formal management role, but you’ll help to set the standard the team builds to.
How you’ll think and work
Design-first thinking
You start with the business problem, not the platform. You ask what the system needs to do before you decide how HubSpot does it. You produce solutions designs that are clear enough for a client to approve and precise enough for a colleague to build from.
Connecting build to strategy
You can trace every build element back to a business requirement. When a client describes a business problem, you can trace it through to the system design that addresses it and the reporting that measures whether it’s working. You understand where your work sits in the wider engagement and what it needs to deliver.

Quality ownership
You don’t hand off and hope. You approve the test plan, you run QA, you sit with the client during UAT. When something breaks, you triage it. When something’s ambiguous in the spec, you clarify it before it becomes rework.
AI fluency
You use AI tools to accelerate your own work: drafting specifications, generating workflow logic, writing custom code, building test scripts, producing documentation. And you’ll build and deploy agents and agent workflows when the need and opportunity arise.
What you bring
- 4–6 years of hands-on HubSpot implementation experience, ideally at a Solutions Partner agency or consultancy. You’ve led end-to-end solution design, not just configuration. Or deep and comparable in-house experience
- Experience leading discovery sessions and translating business requirements into solution designs and documentation
- Deep working knowledge across at least three HubSpot Hubs, with strong capability in Marketing Hub, Sales Hub and Data Hub
- Confidence with complex builds: branching workflows, custom-coded actions, calculated properties, multi-pipeline setups, custom objects
- Experience with integrations: APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms (Zapier, Make or similar)
- Customer-facing communication skills. You’ve run workshops, presented recommendations, and managed expectations in multi-stakeholder situations
- Strong documentation habits. You produce clear solutions designs, specifications and handover materials without being asked
Desirable
- HubSpot Solutions Architecture Design accreditation
- Experience with data migration, portal audits or platform consolidation projects
- Familiarity with revenue operations concepts: lead lifecycle design, attribution modelling, sales-marketing handoff, pipeline reporting
- Experience scoping and estimating implementation work
- A track record of using AI tools, as solutions to business requirements and to improve own work.
