Job description
Ladder builds outsourced digital growth teams for some of the most ambitious companies in the world.
We’re looking for a HubSpot & Lifecycle Marketing Specialist to help our clients build smarter lifecycle marketing systems that turn leads into customers, increase engagement and retention, and drive measurable growth.
This is a role for someone who can combine lifecycle marketing strategy with hands-on technical execution. You’ll be expected to understand a client’s customer journey, identify where CRM and lifecycle marketing can unlock growth, develop the strategy, and then actually build the systems, workflows, segmentation and communications required to make it happen.
HubSpot will be a major part of the role, so strong technical knowledge of the platform is essential. But we’re not looking for someone who only knows how to operate HubSpot. We want someone who understands why a lifecycle programme should exist, who it should target, what it should communicate and how its performance should be measured and improved.
About Ladder
We partner with high-growth startups and global brands to solve complex growth problems by embedding strategy, performance marketing, creative and technology into a single integrated team. Our teams operate as an extension of our clients’ businesses, combining strong strategic thinking, digital execution and creative problem-solving to help brands grow in modern performance environments.
As our client work continues to grow in scale and complexity, lifecycle marketing is becoming an increasingly important part of how we help clients generate and capture demand. We’re looking for someone who can own that challenge — helping clients build the CRM infrastructure, customer journeys and lifecycle programmes that turn marketing activity into sustainable growth.
The Role
You’ll work across a portfolio of Ladder clients to design, build and optimise lifecycle marketing programmes, with HubSpot as a core platform.
The role spans both strategy and implementation.
At the strategic level, you’ll analyse customer journeys, data and existing communications to identify opportunities across acquisition, lead nurturing, conversion, onboarding, retention, reactivation and other key lifecycle stages.
At the implementation level, you’ll turn those strategies into functioning systems — building HubSpot implementations, workflows, automations, segmentation, lead management processes, email programmes, reporting and integrations.
You’ll also work directly with clients. You should be comfortable leading conversations with marketing teams and senior stakeholders, explaining technical concepts clearly, challenging existing approaches and presenting recommendations grounded in commercial outcomes.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys thinking and building. You might spend one part of your day developing a lifecycle strategy for a client and another configuring the HubSpot workflows required to deliver it.
Contract-to-Hire Structure
This role will start as a contract engagement, with clear intent to convert into a full-time role. We are looking to make a permanent hire, but we want to find the right candidate and validate the role through real client work before making a long-term commitment. We believe the best way to do that is by working together in practice first.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The initial contract period will be hands-on and embedded in live client projects. You’ll work directly with the Ladder team and our clients, taking ownership of real lifecycle and HubSpot challenges from strategy through implementation.
If there is a strong mutual fit, the intention is for the role to become full-time.
What You’ll Do
- Develop lifecycle marketing strategies aligned with client growth goals, customer journeys and commercial priorities
- Design programmes across acquisition, lead nurture, conversion, onboarding, retention, upsell, cross-sell and reactivation
- Lead and support HubSpot implementations, including CRM setup, data architecture, properties, lists, pipelines, workflows, automation and reporting
- Audit existing HubSpot and CRM environments to identify technical, strategic and performance opportunities
- Build sophisticated audience segmentation based on behavioural, demographic, firmographic, lifecycle and engagement data
- Design and implement automated customer journeys and email programmes that move audiences towards meaningful commercial actions
- Apply email and CRM best practices across deliverability, consent, segmentation, personalisation, automation and campaign structure
- Translate lifecycle strategies into detailed implementation plans and then take ownership of executing them
- Work across HubSpot and other CRM, email and marketing automation platforms where required
- Collaborate with Ladder’s strategy, paid media, creative and analytics teams to connect lifecycle activity with the wider customer acquisition and growth strategy
- Analyse lifecycle performance and identify opportunities to improve conversion, engagement, retention and revenue
- Define reporting frameworks and KPIs that demonstrate the commercial impact of lifecycle marketing
- Act as a strategic and technical point of contact for clients, building trust through strong thinking, clear communication and reliable execution
- Lead client calls, workshops and strategy sessions around CRM, lifecycle marketing and customer journeys
- Manage multiple client projects and priorities while maintaining a high standard of strategic and technical execution
- Stay current with changes in HubSpot, CRM technology, email marketing and lifecycle best practices
Who This Role is For
This role is for someone who:
- Has 4–5+ years of experience in lifecycle marketing, CRM, email marketing, marketing automation or a related discipline
- Has strong hands-on experience with HubSpot, beyond simply building and sending email campaigns
- Understands HubSpot architecture and can confidently build workflows, segmentation, properties, pipelines, automation and reporting
- Has experience implementing or significantly restructuring HubSpot environments
- Understands lifecycle marketing as a growth discipline, not simply a communications channel
- Can map customer journeys and identify where automation, segmentation and messaging can improve performance
- Has strong knowledge of email marketing and CRM best practices
- Understands segmentation, personalisation, lead nurturing, lead scoring and behavioural automation
- Is comfortable working with customer and marketing data to inform strategy and decision-making
- Can move confidently between high-level strategy and detailed technical implementation
- Is comfortable operating across different marketing automation and CRM platforms rather than relying on a single tool
- Can manage client relationships and communicate confidently with both marketers and senior stakeholders
- Can translate complex CRM or technical concepts into clear commercial recommendations
- Is proactive, organised and comfortable managing multiple client workstreams
- Cares about measurable performance and continuously looks for ways to improve what has been built
