Human Factors Specialist
BAE Systems, Christchurch
Duration: 12 months
Hourly Rate: £57 PAYE or £76.98 Umbrella
Working Arrangements: Hybrid Working - Minimum 3 days per week on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Support the lead Human Factors specialist in integrating Human Factors across the TRINITY design programme
- Facilitate workshops, trials and User-Centred Design activities with end users and key stakeholders
- Assess Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment against system requirements and user needs
- Evaluate prototypes and mock-ups of hardware and software solutions
- Conduct Human Factors analyses including:
- Task Analysis
- Human Error Analysis
- Usability Assessments
- Workload Assessments
- Perform anthropometric assessments and support workspace/workstation design activities
- Support integration testing and verification activities
- Produce technical reports and contribute to customer deliverables
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering environment to support system development and integration

About You
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Psychology, Engineering or a related discipline
- Registered membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics & Human Factors (CIEHF), or eligibility to achieve Chartered status
- A minimum of 5 years' experience applying Human Factors methodologies within Defence or another safety-critical industry
- Strong working knowledge of Def Stan 00-251
- Experience working on complex system integration and development programmes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
