Job Summary:

This role involves conducting human performance research for new health hardware by leading participants through exercise tests and meticulously collecting data. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of research data by operating specialized equipment and troubleshooting any technical issues. The position requires hands-on engagement with participants and technology in a dynamic research setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Protocol Leadership: Lead human research protocols in individual or group settings, often managing multiple participants simultaneously across various exercise modalities, while ensuring safety and adherence to strict SOPs.
  • Technical Data Collection: Execute high-fidelity data capture using gold-standard equipment alongside Google's wearable ecosystem (Pixel Watch, Fitbit Devices).
  • Data Integrity & Troubleshooting: Perform QA on collected data to ensure it meets our robust research standards. You must be a fast learner capable of troubleshooting proprietary hardware, firmware, and experimental rigs on the fly.
  • Subject & Study Coordination: Manage the end-to-end participant experience - from recruitment and scheduling to Informed Consent and risk mitigation.
  • Compliance: Maintain rigorous documentation, adhering to best clinical practice, Data Retention policies, and Research Ethics Committee requirements.

Must Have Skills:

  • BSc/MSc in Exercise Physiology, Sports Science, Biomedicine, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience leading human testing in applied settings (sports science lab, elite athletes, clinical, or performance coaching).
  • Familiarity with wearable ecosystems (smartwatches, rings, trackers) and human performance hardware (VO2 Max carts, ECG, Force Plate, etc.).
  • Highly organized with a knack for administrative tracking and scheduling.
  • Ability to work onsite at our King’s Cross lab 5 days a week.
