The group manages a diverse portfolio of hotels and hospitality properties and is focused on delivering high standards of guest experience, operational excellence, and people development.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Regional HR professional to lead and oversee the end-to-end Human Resources function across MGM Muthu Hotels' UK operations, with a strong focus on Scotland.

The role will act as a strategic HR partner to the regional and hotel leadership teams, ensuring effective people management, employee engagement, talent development, compliance, and consistent implementation of HR policies and practices across the hotel portfolio.

The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with General Managers, Heads of Departments, and senior leadership to build a strong people culture while ensuring HR practices are aligned with business and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional HR Leadership

  • Lead the HR function across the assigned UK hotel portfolio.
  • Partner with General Managers and senior leadership on all people-related matters.
  • Develop and implement regional HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure consistency in HR policies, processes, and standards across properties.
  • Provide strategic HR advice and support to hotel management teams.

2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Lead recruitment and selection for key positions across the region.
  • Develop effective talent acquisition strategies to attract hospitality professionals.
  • Support workforce planning and succession planning across hotels.
  • Monitor staffing levels, vacancies, turnover, and manpower requirements.
  • Build talent pipelines for critical and operational positions.

3. Employee Relations

  • Manage complex employee relations matters, grievances, disciplinary procedures, and workplace issues.
  • Provide guidance to General Managers and HODs on employee-related matters.
  • Promote positive employee relations and a professional workplace environment.
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and legally compliant HR practices.

4. Performance Management

  • Drive effective performance management processes across the hotel portfolio.
  • Support managers in setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and addressing performance issues.
  • Identify high-potential employees and support succession planning.
  • Develop initiatives to improve employee productivity and retention.

5. Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
  • Promote a strong people-focused culture across the hotels.
  • Conduct and support employee engagement activities and surveys.
  • Identify employee concerns and work with management to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Support team-building and employee recognition initiatives.

6. Learning & Development

  • Identify training and development requirements across the region.
  • Work with hotel leadership to establish appropriate training plans.
  • Support leadership development and career progression initiatives.
  • Promote continuous learning and development across the workforce.

7. HR Compliance & Policies

  • Ensure compliance with applicable UK employment legislation and HR regulations.
  • Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
  • Ensure hotels follow appropriate employment practices and internal HR standards.
  • Support management during audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.

8. HR Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee core HR processes across the assigned properties.
  • Monitor HR metrics including headcount, turnover, absenteeism, recruitment, and employee engagement.
  • Prepare regular HR reports and dashboards for senior management.
  • Analyse HR data and provide recommendations for improving workforce performance and retention.

9. Payroll & Workforce Cost Management

  • Work closely with hotel management and relevant finance teams on payroll and manpower costs.
  • Monitor staffing costs and support effective workforce planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve labour efficiency without compromising service quality.

10. Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted HR advisor to General Managers and senior hotel leadership.
  • Translate business requirements into practical people strategies.
  • Support organisational change, restructuring, and business growth initiatives.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to senior management on people-related matters.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8–15+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
  • Strong experience managing HR operations across multiple hotels or locations.
  • Proven experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, engagement, and HR compliance.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Experience working as a strategic HR Business Partner with senior operational leaders.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Experience managing and developing HR teams.
  • Strong analytical and HR reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
