HR Account Manager
Remote Working
We have an exciting new opportunity for an HR Account Manager to join our small, friendly team.
To apply, please email your CV and a cover letter, including current remuneration details, to Hugh Nickerson (MD): search@conundrum.co.uk
Organised and accurate, you’ll provide excellent generalist HR and administrative support to your own dedicated clients by email, phone and video call with a customer service approach. Although the role is majority remote, occasional travel for client visits and team meetings in-person may be required (to be mutually agreed). You will respond quickly and efficiently to queries, build friendly working relationships, prepare and issue documents, update our cloud-based HR admin software, administer recruitment projects; and take part in a wide range of ad hoc HR projects.
The ability to manage and prioritise your workload will be key to success in this busy, frequently pressurised position, along with the confidence to take responsibility for the HR inbox and day-to-day administration of a variety of tasks for your clients. Organised and accurate, you will be an excellent communicator with a friendly manner and have great IT skills (particularly Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint). Familiarity with Asana and either Breathe HR or People HR would also be an advantage, but not essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Depending on your experience level, you may either provide HR guidance and advice to clients on more specialist HR matters (such as employee relations), or develop and grow towards this over time. We are open to considering a wide range of experience levels and backgrounds.
This opportunity could suit someone from a customer service, account management, or PA/EA background seeking to begin a career in HR, or a more experienced HR generalist looking to develop their existing skills and experience. The key requirements will be expert organisational and customer service skills, along with a proactive personality and the willingness to ‘have a go’ at new tasks as part of our small and mutually supportive team. HR knowledge would be an advantage, but support and guidance will be provided, and we are keen to consider candidates with different levels of knowledge and experience including those who may want to work towards CIPD or other related qualifications.
This is a full-time role, though we are open to considering part-time for the right candidate. We work majority remotely, though the ability to travel on occasion (e.g. 1 day every 2-4 months) for team meetings and to visit your clients in person would be helpful, and ideally you will be based in the South West or South East, within travelling distance of London, Salisbury or Newbury.
