HR Administrator / Assistant – Central Support

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an organised and proactive individual to join a fast-paced international HR team based in Altrincham, Manchester UK. This role is ideally suited to someone with previous HR administration experience, or a strong administrator looking to transition into Human Resources, who is keen to build a long-term career within a supportive environment offering genuine progression opportunities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • HR Query Management: Provide first-line support to employees and managers via telephone and email, resolving routine HR queries and escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
  • Mailbox Coordination: Manage the central HR inbox, ensuring enquiries are distributed and progressed efficiently in collaboration with the HR support team based in Bangalore.
  • Employee Administration: Produce HR documentation relating to contractual changes, probation reviews, family leave requests and other employee correspondence while maintaining strict accuracy and confidentiality.
  • HR Systems Management: Maintain employee records within the HR system, act as a key system user and support data integrity through regular housekeeping and process administration.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate regular and ad hoc HR reports, including headcount, turnover, starters and leavers data, and support senior leadership reporting requirements.
  • Performance Process Support: Assist with annual appraisal administration, reporting and statistical analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Payroll Administration: Support monthly payroll processes, conduct payroll checks and liaise with payroll teams across multiple global locations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements, standard operating procedure development and wider HR projects that enhance service delivery and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build effective working relationships with employees, managers, external benefit providers and international HR colleagues.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Previous HR administration experience or strong administrative experience with a genuine interest in developing a career within HR.
  • Qualifications: Degree in HR or a related discipline is advantageous; CIPD qualification or current CIPD studies would be highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with confidence producing reports and managing HR data.
  • Organisation: Excellent planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: High levels of accuracy and diligence when handling sensitive employee information and administrative processes.
  • Communication: Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels and maintain confidentiality.
  • Adaptability: Flexible, collaborative approach and willingness to support a variety of HR activities as business needs evolve.
  • Systems Knowledge: Previous experience using HR systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
