Working closely with the Head of HR, you will support the delivery of an efficient and professional HR service, ensuring employee records, documentation, and HR processes are managed accurately and within agreed timescales. As your knowledge, confidence, and capability develop, you will gradually take on greater responsibility for providing first-line advice to managers and supporting employee relations matters.

As a growing business, flexibility and teamwork are important to us. This job description outlines the main responsibilities of the role but is not exhaustive. From time to time, you may be asked to support with other tasks that contribute to the success of the team and wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and efficient HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, including new starters, contractual changes, and leavers.
  • Prepare contracts of employment, offer letters, HR correspondence, and other employee documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS, ensuring confidentiality and data protection requirements are met.
  • Complete Right to Work checks and other required pre-employment screening activities.
  • Monitor probation periods, absence records, and other key HR milestones, ensuring appropriate actions and documentation are completed.
  • Support employee relations matters including absence, probation, performance management, disciplinary, and grievance processes.
  • Assist the Head of HR with employee relations casework, developing towards greater ownership of straightforward cases.
  • Support managers with absence management and return-to-work processes.
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, helping to deliver a positive and organised new starter experience.
  • Produce routine HR reports and management information.
  • Prepare and provide accurate employee and payroll information to the external payroll provider, ensuring all changes are communicated within required timescales.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Support the review and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, templates, and ways of working.
  • Develop knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice with a view to progressing into an HR Advisor role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
