HR Administrator
We're looking for an organised and proactive HR Administrator to join our growing HR team in Bristol or Birmingham.
This role is focussed on coordinating Bevan Brittan's end-to-end employee onboarding process, ensuring every new joiner has a smooth, professional and welcoming experience from offer acceptance through to their first day. Working closely with our recruitment team, hiring managers and new colleagues, you'll play a key role in delivering an efficient onboarding experience while maintaining accuracy and excellent attention to detail.
You'll become the go to person for onboarding administration, while also providing support across a number of wider HR administrative activities when needed.
The role reports to our HR Operations Manager and is based in either our Bristol or Birmingham office. We operate a hybrid working model, providing colleagues with the equipment and support needed to work effectively from home. Most members of the HR team choose to attend the Bristol or Birmingham office once a week, although there is flexibility depending on business and individual needs.
What you'll be doing
Your primary focus will be managing the onboarding process for all new joiners across the firm. This will include:
- Coordinating the end-to-end onboarding process from offer acceptance through to day-one, ensuring onboarding is completed accurately, within agreed timescales and HR service standards
- Working closely with our Recruitment team to ensure a seamless transition from recruitment into onboarding
- Carrying out pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, DBS and reference checks
- Liaising with hiring managers and new joiners to ensure all onboarding requirements are completed on time
- Planning and coordinating induction activities, ensuring colleagues feel welcomed and informed
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
- Responding to onboarding queries and providing an excellent service to new starters and managers
- Supporting employee benefits administration and other HR administration as required
- Contributing to improvements in onboarding processes and the wider employee experience

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
