We are Hiring: Human Resources Adviser – Casework & Organisational Change

Location: Hampshire County Council

Contract Role, Hybrid

Rate: £21.07/hour

Role Overview

Hampshire County Council is seeking an experienced HR Adviser to provide high-quality HR advice and casework support to managers and HR colleagues, ensuring compliance with employment law, HR policies and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide HR advice on employee relations, performance and personnel matters.
  • Manage and support complex HR casework and organisational change activities.
  • Advise, challenge and influence managers to achieve effective employee relations outcomes.
  • Apply HR policies, procedures and UK employment legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records using HR systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Handle sensitive information in line with GDPR and Data Protection requirements.
  • Support HR projects, policy implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Manage competing priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines.

Essential Requirements

  • CIPD Level 3+ or equivalent relevant HR experience.
  • Experience in a generalist HR/HR advisory role.
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
  • Strong communication, influencing and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyse HR data and work confidently with HR systems.
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently.
  • Strong customer-service approach.
  • Access to transport for occasional travel to HCC sites.

Desirable

  • Local Government/public-sector HR experience and previous customer-service experience.
