HR Advisor / HR Support Officer

Location: Salisbury – 3 days onsite

Contract: 12-Month Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor / HR Support Officer to provide first and second-line HR support to employees and managers. You will advise on HR policies and procedures, manage employee queries, maintain HR records, support recruitment and onboarding, prepare HR reports, and ensure compliance with employment legislation and data protection requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line HR support to employees and managers.
  • Advise on HR policies, leave, payroll, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation using HR systems.
  • Support recruitment, interview coordination, and onboarding activities.
  • Prepare HR reports and management information.
  • Support Learning & Development administration and reporting.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and HR projects.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law, GDPR, and internal HR policies.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor or HR Support role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
  • Experience using HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and employee HR queries.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience.
  • Experience with HR reporting and people metrics.
  • Public sector or Civil Service HR experience is advantageous.
