HR Advisor Opportunity

Optimum Recruitment Group is proud to be working for this leading, fast-paced service provider, based on the outskirts of York, who are looking to extend their highly successful and talented HR team and appoint to a newly created opportunity of HR Advisor.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to join the business during an exciting period of growth, therefore, a high-energy HR Advisor is required to support the Head of HR. You will be an experienced HR generalist with a fantastic track record in handling employee relations cases. You will have experience working in a similar office-based sector and within a similar-sized organisation (250-500 people) in a role that has a broad level of responsibility.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Advising and supporting managers on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinaries (up to and including dismissal), investigations, probation reviews, and absence management.
  • Managing short- and long-term absence cases, including Occupational Health referrals and interpretation of recommendations.
  • Attending and supporting employee relations meetings and hearings, ensuring fairness, consistency, and policy compliance.
  • Producing accurate documentation, including meeting notes and outcome letters.
  • Creating, reviewing, and updating HR policies to ensure legal compliance and alignment with best practice.
  • Supporting the communication and effective embedding of HR policies and processes across the business.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline HR processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Delivering training sessions and workshops to build manager capability and confidence in handling people matters.
  • Providing coaching and guidance to managers on HR policies and employee issues.
  • Supporting wider HR operations, including onboarding, engagement initiatives, annual HR processes, and organisational change activity.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records in line with data protection requirements.

You must have the following to be considered for the role:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified.
  • Strong and up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage ER cases independently, including complex and sensitive matters.
  • Confident in influencing and partnering with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency with HRIS (preferably Dayforce).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

The salary banding is up to £40k plus the organisation offers an extremely modern and flexible working environment with a generous benefits package.
