HR Advisor

Salary: £42,000 + Benefits
Hours: 40 hours per week.

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity based in Nottingham, with 4 days a week onsite and Fridays working from home.

About the Role:

The People Partner will lead the delivery of engagement, organisational health, and a positive employee experience across the business, with a strong focus on engagement initiative and employee advocacy. With the support of the HR Administrator, this role will also oversee and ensure the smooth delivery of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, providing pragmatic HR advice and operational support. This role is suited for someone who is passionate about engagement and culture, while also bringing strong expertise in employee relations, compliance, and core HR practices.

What you will do:

Organisational Health, Engagement & Culture

  • Own and drive the Organisational Health Index (OHI) agenda, using insights to identify and deliver meaningful actions.
  • Lead the annual employee engagement calendar, including local activities, company-wide events, celebrations, recognition, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Partner with leaders and managers to improve employee engagement, OHI, and eNPS scores.
  • Champion employee voice, inclusion, wellbeing, and culture across multiple business units.
  • Support company-wide communications, including townhalls, colleague forums, newsletters, and people-focused events.
  • Manage and oversee welfare and engagement budgets.

Employee Relations

  • Provide practical and confident guidance on day-to-day employee relations matters.
  • Support managers with performance, disciplinary, and grievance processes, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees, supporting concerns and conflict resolution.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activity, from role profiling and candidate screening through to offers.
  • Deliver a positive and effective onboarding experience in partnership with hiring managers.

Payroll, Reward & Benefits

  • Oversee and sign off monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Support people budget management, including headcount, forecasting, and spend monitoring.
  • Manage reward and benefits programmes, including renewals, communications, and implementation.
  • Support salary reviews, bonus, and Total Compensation Review (TCR) processes, ensuring consistency, fairness, and alignment with business budgets.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, internal policies, and HR processes.
  • Create, maintain, and update HR policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.

About you:

  • Strong desirable understanding of HR practices and UK employment law
  • Experience working in a multi-site, complex/matrix organisation, ideally with Head Office or Group exposure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience using Canva and AI tools desirable
