We are looking for a People Advisor to join our People Team on an 8-month fixed-term contract.
The People Advisor plays a key role in delivering an exceptional team member experience by providing professional HR advice and support across the business. Working closely with managers, you'll provide expert guidance on employee relations, employment legislation and People policies, helping to create a positive, compliant and high performing workplace while supporting the continued development of our people and culture.
The Role
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters, including absence management, disciplinary, grievance, capability and probation processes.
- Support managers in applying People policies, employment legislation and best practice consistently across the business.
- Manage Occupational Health referrals and support wider wellbeing initiatives where required.
- Analyse People data and trends, identifying opportunities to improve the employee experience and support business performance.
- Deliver People training and coach managers to build confidence and capability in managing their teams.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing People processes, policies and ways of working.
- Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, TUPE and redundancy processes where required.
- Champion Virgin Active's values, helping to create a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.

- Previous HR Advisory or HR Generalist experience within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and employee relations case management.
- Experience managing complex HR cases, including absence, disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence and coach managers.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a proactive, solutions-focused approach and a passion for delivering an exceptional people experience.
