HR Advisor
Ashley Kate HR are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation in Aylesbury to recruit a CIPD Level 5 qualified HR Advisor to join their growing HR team.
Based on site Monday to Friday and reporting directly to the Head of HR, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys the operational side of HR and wants to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, proactive HR service across the business.
Salary: £35k - £45k dependant on experience.
This is not a Business Partnering role. Instead, we're looking for a hands-on HR professional who thrives on managing the day-to-day HR function, supporting managers, ensuring compliance, and providing outstanding employee and manager support.
As HR Advisor, you will act as the first point of contact for managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters, providing advice and guidance in line with company policies and employment best practice. Whilst more complex employee relations matters will be escalated to the Head of HR, you will play a vital role in supporting HR processes and ensuring smooth delivery across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR queries from managers and employees.
- Providing guidance on company policies, procedures and HR best practice.
- Supporting employee relations processes through the preparation of documentation, reports and correspondence.
- Taking notes during formal HR meetings and supporting case management administration.
- Managing all aspects of HR administration throughout the employee lifecycle.
- Producing contracts, offer letters and employment documentation.
- Supporting absence management and employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Monitoring and analysing HR data, including absence statistics and trends.
- Working closely with managers to create and review job descriptions.
- Coordinating recruitment activities, arranging interviews and supporting hiring processes.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems.
- Preparing payroll information and ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time.
- Supporting compliance activities and ensuring HR processes remain legally compliant.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
