About the Role
We are currently working in partnership with a public sector organisation, who are recruiting for a HR Advisor on a full-time, fixed-term 6-month contract. The position is based on a hybrid basis, with some work from the Cardiff office required and offers a salary up to £45,636 per annum.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a generalist HR advisory capacity, with strong knowledge of current HR best practice and employment law.
Duties
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Project-managing and supporting People processes including recruitment, absence management, performance management, grievances, disciplinaries and employee relations casework
- Providing proactive HR guidance to managers and employees, identifying practical and consistent solutions aligned to policy, employment law and business requirements
- Working closely with HR Business Partners to understand implications, outline risks and escalate complex or sensitive people matters where appropriate
- Using a coaching approach to support line managers in taking accountability for People outcomes within their functions
- Contributing to HR projects, policy development, process improvement and continuous improvement activity across the organisation

Experience Required
- Proven experience in a generalist HR advisory role, providing advice and support on a range of people-related matters
- Case management experience, with the ability to manage sensitive issues professionally and appropriately
- Experience of working in partnership with managers, employees, trade unions and external partners
- Experience contributing to HR strategies, policies, processes and service improvement activity
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Required
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy and varied HR workload within strict and conflicting timelines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information to a range of stakeholders
- Ability to challenge, influence, coach and build effective working relationships across the organisation
- Sound judgement, creativity and flexibility when analysing information and resolving people-related issues
- Strong digital skills, with the ability to use systems and data to support HR service delivery and reporting

Additional Notes
Please note that recent generalist HR advisory experience is required to apply for this role. Welsh language skills are not essential, but a willingness to learn is valued.
