Anderson Knight is delighted to be partnering exclusively with a well-established, values-driven organisation to recruit an HR Adviser for their Glasgow operation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional looking for a broad, generalist role where they can genuinely influence the people agenda. Supporting two operational sites across Glasgow and Inverclyde, you'll work closely with senior leaders to drive engagement, development, employee experience and business performance. This role offers a fantastic blend of operational HR support and project-based people initiatives, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a visible impact.
About the Role
The opportunity to join a supportive and highly collaborative HR team, you'll partner with managers across a diverse operational workforce, providing practical, commercially focused HR advice and guidance. Working closely with the local leadership team, you'll help shape and deliver key people initiatives, support organisational objectives and contribute to the wider People Plan. While employee relations support forms part of the role, there is significant opportunity to become involved in engagement, development, communications and people projects that directly influence the employee experience.

Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR advice and guidance to managers across a range of people matters.
- Coach and support managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Support employee relations cases including investigations, disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.
- Manage short and long-term absence cases, ensuring a supportive and consistent approach.
- Work closely with managers and Occupational Health providers where appropriate.
- Support business change, continuous improvement and organisational initiatives.
- Help deliver local people plans and employee engagement activities.
- Assist with policy development and implementation.
- Contribute to management development and capability-building initiatives.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across multiple operational sites.
Qualifications
- CIPD qualification, or currently working towards it, would be advantageous.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Required Skills
- Previous experience in a generalist HR Adviser position.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
- Confidence supporting managers in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to balance employee needs with commercial objectives.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience using HR systems and producing management information/reporting.

- Exposure to a unionised environment would be beneficial, although direct experience of pay negotiations is not required.
