Job Title

Group HR Advisor / Generalist

Location

United Kingdom, office based with flexibility to travel between Leeds, London and Guisborough as required

Salary

Competitive, dependent on experience

Role Purpose

The KERV Group comprises 10 specialist recruitment companies and a central operations support business, with a combined group headcount of 70+, £25+ million group turnover and offices in Cardiff, Guisborough, London, Leeds, Dubai and USA. The Group HR Advisor / generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting and advising the business on all aspects of people management across the KERV Group. The role is a standalone position, and the successful candidate will act as a trusted HR partner, helping to build management capability and promote consistent, fair and legally compliant people practices across the organisation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Managing employee relations and HR case management
  • First point of contact for the Senior Leadership Team and senior managers on HR and people-related matters
  • Maintain group HR compliance

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support managers through formal processes, including preparing documentation, attending meetings and ensuring compliance with company procedures and employment legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and case documentation.
  • Identify trends in employee relations matters and make recommendations to improve people practices and reduce risk.
  • Design and deliver HR training sessions, workshops and coaching on topics such as:
  • Develop guidance materials, toolkits and resources to enhance management capability and ensure consistency across the Group.
  • Monitor changes in UK employment legislation, case law and HR best practice, assessing the impact on the business.
  • Review and update HR policies, procedures, templates and employee documentation to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organisational requirements.
  • Communicate legislative and policy changes effectively to managers and employees where appropriate.
  • Support the implementation of new HR initiatives and compliance requirements across the Group.
  • Support wider HR projects and initiatives as required.
  • Assist with the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive employee experience and an engaged workforce.

Person Specification

Desired Experience and Knowledge

  • Experience in a HR Advisor / generalist role.
  • Experience of managing employee relations cases from start to finish.
  • Up to date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience of advising and coaching managers on people matters.
  • Experience of delivering training and facilitating workshops.
  • Experience of reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures.
