At Doncasters, we have an exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join our team at Doncasters Deritend Precision Castings based in Droitwitch!
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Friday 8am – 2pm
Role Location
100% based on site at Doncasters Deritend - WR9 8LX

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact at Deritend, helping shape a positive workplace culture where people feel engaged, supported, and empowered to succeed. As HR Advisor, you’ll play a key role in delivering a proactive, people-focused HR service, strengthening employee relations, developing line manager capability, and driving initiatives that support our people and business objectives.
You’ll take an active role in shaping our recruitment approach, managing the end-to-end recruitment process for direct employees and partnering with our Talent Acquisition team to support indirect recruitment. From building strong relationships with stakeholders to using data to identify opportunities for improvement, you’ll help ensure our people strategy continues to evolve alongside the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert HR guidance
- Build strong employee relationships: Develop and maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with the Joint Consultative Committee, supporting open communication and constructive engagement.
- Champion employee engagement: Support the delivery of employee engagement activities, including communications, survey administration, and action planning, helping turn feedback into meaningful improvements.
- Drive recruitment success: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for direct employees, from interview coordination and candidate support through to issuing contracts, while working closely with the Talent Acquisition team on indirect recruitment.
- Empower our managers: Build line manager confidence and capability by providing coaching, guidance, and support to help them effectively manage employee relations issues and people-related challenges.
- Use data to drive improvement: Analyse business metrics and HR data to identify trends, highlight opportunities, and proactively recommend actions that improve people processes and business performance.
- Contribute to wider HR initiatives: Get involved in Group-wide HR projects, helping deliver improvements and share best practice across the business.

As HR Advisor, you’ll play a key role in supporting our growing workforce of over 460 employees, working closely with an HR Assistant and HR Operations Partner. As our second-largest business, Deritend offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their HR career, make a real impact, and embrace the challenges of a fast-paced, evolving environment!
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a HR Generalist role handling employee relation issues such as absence reviews, probationary period reviews, performance management conversations, etc., alongside the full employment lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to exit processes.
- Ability to identify root cause and implement actions to address.
- Relationship building and proven negotiation skills.
- Experience of improving the competence of others.
- Ability to manage stakeholders to achieve results and manage expectations.
