HR Advisor - Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to join a successful and well-established organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Job Description for the HR Advisor role:

As the HR Advisor you will be providing first-line HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.

  • Managing a varied employee relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, probation and flexible working matters.
  • Supporting and conducting workplace investigations.
  • Preparing for and attending disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings.
  • Providing practical advice and coaching to line managers.
  • Supporting recruitment, interviews, onboarding, inductions and probation reviews.
  • Preparing and maintaining HR documentation, including contracts, offer letters and employee correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records in line with GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • Supporting HR reporting, metrics and management information.
  • Assisting with the implementation and review of HR policies and procedures.
  • Supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across HR processes.
  • Ensuring employee relations activity is compliant with UK employment legislation, ACAS guidance and company policies.

Candidate Requirements for the HR Advisor role:

  • Previous experience working as an HR Advisor or HR Generalist.
  • Strong experience managing a varied employee relations caseload.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment legislation and ACAS guidance.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident coaching and advising line managers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and discreet when handling confidential information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR systems.
  • CIPD qualification is desirable.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, Engineering or FMCG environment would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience coaching line managers would be beneficial.

This role would suit candidates with the following experience: HR Advisor, HR Generalist, HR Officer, Employee Relations Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar HR experience, particularly candidates with strong employee relations experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or fast-paced commercial environment.

This role is commutable from: Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Hanley, Burslem, Longton, Stone, Stafford, Crewe, Nantwich, Congleton and surrounding areas.

Hours:

  • Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
  • Friday 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
