About the role

As our People Advisor, you’ll be a trusted partner to managers across the business, providing practical, commercially minded advice across the employee lifecycle. You’ll take ownership of a varied ER caseload, supporting everything from absence and performance through to disciplinary, grievance and organisational change.

This isn’t just about knowing policy. We’re looking for someone who can bring judgement, confidence and a human approach to sometimes complex situations. You’ll coach managers to handle people matters effectively, identify opportunities to improve how we work and play an active part in delivering our wider People Plan.

If you’re an experienced People Advisor who enjoys getting stuck into ER, building trusted relationships with managers and making a genuine difference to the employee experience, this could be a great next move.

What you'll be doing

  • Take ownership of a varied ER caseload, advising on absence, performance, disciplinary, grievance, capability, conduct and organisational change.
  • Be a trusted sounding board for managers, providing clear, pragmatic and commercially balanced advice while helping them understand risk and make confident decisions.
  • Coach managers through people processes, from preparing for conversations and meetings through to documentation and decision-making.
  • Build manager capability by developing practical guidance, training and communications that make people processes easier to understand and apply.
  • Provide advice across the wider employee lifecycle, including onboarding, probation, flexible working, family leave, employment changes and leavers.
  • Work closely with our People Partners and People Operations team to create a joined-up, positive employee experience.
  • Look for ways to make things better, identifying opportunities to improve our policies, processes, tools and ways of working.
  • Get involved in wider People initiatives and take ownership of projects that support our People Plan and improve the experience for our people and managers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
