The Role
We are looking for a Site HR Advisor to provide comprehensive HR support across our Portsmouth manufacturing site.
This is a broad HR Generalist position combining employee relations, recruitment, HR administration, payroll support, HR systems, reporting, training, and employee engagement.
Working closely with the Site HR Manager, you will act as a trusted HR partner to employees and managers, providing practical advice while helping strengthen our HR processes and workplace culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Own the full recruitment lifecycle for agency and direct-hire positions.
- Manage job advertising, candidate sourcing, interview coordination, and offer management.
- Coordinate right-to-work checks and required security vetting.
- Prepare offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documentation.
- Support new employees through an effective onboarding and induction process.
Employee Relations
- Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Support performance management and mandatory PDP processes.
- Facilitate formal HR meetings involving disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability, and flexible-working matters.
- Identify employee relations trends and escalate complex cases to the Site HR Manager.
- Liaise with Occupational Health and support the management of long-term absence cases.

HR Administration, Systems & Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR data.
- Support Time & Attendance systems and general HR systems administration.
- Ensure employee information is managed in accordance with GDPR requirements.
- Produce HR metrics and reports covering areas such as absence, overtime, and workforce trends.
- Use HR data to provide actionable insights to management.
Payroll & Reward
- Support accurate monthly payroll submissions and employee changes.
- Manage payroll-related administration, including overtime and absence information.
- Contribute to employee reward and recognition initiatives.
- Support employee engagement activities and site events.
Training, Projects & Employee Engagement
- Partner with the Site HR Manager to deliver training programmes and business inductions.
- Participate in HR projects and organisational initiatives.
- Support employee representative forums.
- Help identify opportunities to continuously improve HR processes.
- Contribute to initiatives designed to strengthen employee engagement and workplace culture.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- CIPD Level 5 Certificate/Diploma.
- Solid experience working within a generalist HR environment.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
- Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately.

Strongly Preferred
- Good understanding of UK employment law.
- Experience supporting employee relations cases.
- Ability to mediate and resolve workplace issues effectively.
- Experience with payroll administration and employee changes.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Continuous-improvement mindset.
Working Hours
- Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 4:15 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
