Employee Relations Advisor Band 5
Location: Nottingham / Hybrid
Salary: 32,073 - 39,043
Contract: Permanent / Fixed Term (12 months)
We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join our team and provide high-quality, proactive ER advice to managers across the Trust. Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, you will manage a portfolio of complex and sensitive casework, providing expert advice on employment law, NHS policies, Agenda for Change terms and conditions, sickness absence, disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, capability and performance matters.
Key responsibilities
- Provide trusted ER advice and guidance to managers.
- Lead and support investigations, meetings and formal hearings.
- Advise on sickness absence, conduct, grievances and performance issues.
- Support organisational change, consultation, redeployment and TUPE processes.
- Build strong relationships with managers, employees and Trade Union representatives.
- Promote a fair and consistent Just Culture approach.
- Contribute to ER training, policy development, job evaluation and workforce projects.
- Maintain accurate casework records and use ESR to support reporting and analysis.
- Deputise for the ER Manager when required.

About you

You will have strong practical Employee Relations and employment law experience, excellent communication and influencing skills, and the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases independently. You will demonstrate emotional intelligence, resilience, sound judgement and professionalism, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build positive relationships across all levels. Experience within the NHS, Agenda for Change, TUPE and organisational change would be highly desirable.
