Job Purpose

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support the day-to-day HR operations of our UK business. This role will provide administrative and operational support across recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll coordination, HR reporting and general employee lifecycle management. As the role involves regular communication with both UK and China-based stakeholders, Chinese and English language skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including job posting, CV screening, interview scheduling and candidate communication.
  • Coordinate interview arrangements with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Support new employee onboarding, including preparing onboarding documents and coordinating induction arrangements.
  • Maintain recruitment records and candidate information accurately.

HR Administration

  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR files and personnel databases.
  • Support the preparation of employment-related documents, including contracts, offer letters and other HR correspondence.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle administration, including probation, changes to employment terms and offboarding processes.
  • Ensure HR documentation is properly organised and handled confidentially.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Support the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with absence, holiday and attendance record management.
  • Support HR compliance activities and document preparation.
  • Assist with HR reporting, data analysis and regular HR administration.

Employee & Stakeholder Support

  • Act as a first point of contact for routine HR queries from employees.
  • Provide administrative support for employee engagement and internal communication activities.
  • Communicate and coordinate with both UK and China-based teams.
  • Support ad hoc HR projects and business initiatives as required.

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience in an HR, administrative or people-related role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Good understanding of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a UK-based HR environment.
  • Knowledge of UK employment practices and HR processes.
  • Experience supporting payroll, pension or employee benefits administration.
  • Experience working in an international or fast-growing organisation.
