HR Assistant

North Derbyshire | Hybrid Working
£30,000–£32,000
Full time Monday – Friday | Permanent

Are you currently working in HR administration and looking for a role that gives you more exposure, responsibility and a clear route to develop?

The role is ideal for candidates based in Ripley, Belper, Alfreton and the surrounding North Derbyshire areas. You must be able to drive to be considered for the role due to the location of the business.

Eaton Syalon are supporting an established North Derbyshire business with the recruitment of an HR Assistant to join its growing HR team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has already built a solid foundation in HR administration and now wants to gain broader generalist experience.

You’ll work closely with experienced HR Advisors, supporting them with day to day HR activity while gradually developing your knowledge and confidence. For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to progress towards an HR Advisor position within the next 18–24 months.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the HR inbox and responding to employee and manager queries
  • Supporting recruitment administration and onboarding activity
  • Preparing contracts, letters and other employee documentation
  • Assisting with wellbeing and employee correspondence
  • Managing general employee lifecycle administration
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and employee information
  • Supporting HR Advisors with wider generalist HR activity
  • Building knowledge of internal HR policies and procedures
  • Taking on broader responsibilities as your experience develops

Who are we looking for?

You may currently be working as an HR Administrator, HR Assistant, People Administrator, or HR Coordinator.

We’re looking for someone who has some practical HR experience but, more importantly, is keen to learn and wants to build a long-term career within generalist HR.

You’ll need to be organised, approachable and confident communicating with employees and managers, with strong attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
