Join Elexon as an HR Assistant

Help deliver an efficient, supportive and people-focused HR service across the organisation.

We’re looking for an HR Assistant (Grade 8), to join our Human Resources team at Elexon on a permanent basis.

In this varied generalist role, you’ll provide administrative and operational support across the full colleague lifecycle. You’ll help coordinate onboarding, respond to HR queries, maintain accurate colleague records, support payroll and training activities, and contribute to projects that improve the overall colleague experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous HR experience and strong administrative skills who is looking to develop their knowledge across a broad range of HR activities.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries, providing an accurate, timely and professional service
  • Manage and triage the HR inbox, resolving queries where appropriate and referring complex or sensitive matters to senior HR colleagues
  • Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process, including right-to-work documentation, DBS checks and references
  • Prepare employment contracts and onboarding materials
  • Deliver new starter inductions, ensuring colleagues receive a positive introduction to Elexon
  • Coordinate new starter surveys and focus groups, identifying trends and presenting insights to the wider HR team
  • Provide HR data and documentation to support internal and external audits
  • Support HR Business Partners with employee relations administration, including meeting notes and case documentation
  • Manage and promote Elexon’s mentoring programme
  • Deputise for payroll when required, supporting accurate data input and timely processing
  • Maintain HR content on Elexon’s intranet, ensuring information is accurate, accessible and up to date
  • Coordinate the booking, administration and evaluation of training courses
  • Support the review and updating of HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and confidential colleague records in line with data protection and GDPR requirements
  • Support HR projects across employee engagement, wellbeing, learning and development

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
