Workday Business Analyst (Discovery Phase)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Business Analyst to support the Discovery phase of a major Workday transformation programme. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, programme leadership, HR, Finance, and Technology teams to understand current processes, define future-state requirements, and establish a clear roadmap for implementation.

This is a business-facing role with a strong focus on requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder engagement, and programme mobilisation. The role is not configuration-focused and will primarily support the organisation in making key design decisions before entering the build phase.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops across business and functional workstreams.
• Capture and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
• Analyse current ("as-is") processes and identify opportunities for standardisation and optimisation.
• Facilitate future-state ("to-be") process design aligned to Workday best practice.
• Produce process maps, user journeys, and business requirements documentation.
• Support the development of business cases, implementation scope, and prioritisation activities.
• Identify gaps between current operating models and future Workday capabilities.
• Define key business processes, reporting requirements, integrations, and data considerations.
• Work closely with programme managers, architects, and implementation partners.
• Support governance activities including RAID management, decision logs, and stakeholder updates.
• Contribute to programme mobilisation and readiness planning.
