Company Description

Birmingham Hospice is the primary provider of adult hospice care in Birmingham, delivering expert palliative and end-of-life care in hospice sites, in the community, and in patients’ homes. The hospice is dedicated to improving quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses and to supporting their families and loved ones. With an average of around 670 patients in its care each day, Birmingham Hospice serves people from all communities and aims to help each person access the care of their choice at the end of life. The organization is only partly funded by the NHS and government, and expects it will cost around £19 million to run its services this year, with 42% of that needing to be raised through fundraising, retail income, and voluntary donations. This is an opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization that prioritizes compassionate, person-centered care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
