VirtualResource (VR) HR Business Partner Contractors
VirtualResource (VR) is a boutique consultancy supporting companies with HR Transformation and optimisation of their HR operating model, processes, and systems. We strive to be the go-to company that partners with businesses to optimise their HR Delivery and HR technology landscape.
What is the role about?
We are seeking experienced HR Business Partner contractors to support a number of restructuring programmes across the UK and internationally. These are hands-on delivery roles requiring deep expertise in organisational change, with the ability to work at pace in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
You will act as a trusted partner to senior business leaders, providing expert HR counsel and end-to-end support throughout the full lifecycle of restructuring activity - from planning and consultation through to implementation and closure.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Business Partner supporting the organisational transformation and business change within the UK.
- Partner with senior business leaders and HR leaders/partners to successfully deliver the organisational change to support R&D's long-term objectives
- Provide expert guidance and deliver on organisational design, restructuring, workforce planning, consultation, and change management to ensure effective and compliant delivery of a critical programme
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive people strategies, stakeholder engagement approaches, and communication plans
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, offering insights and guidance on restructuring best practice.
- Develop pragmatic solutions to complex HR queries by interpreting local UK legislation, HR policies and processes specifically in terms of consultation requirements and change governance
- Utilize digital, data, and analytics tools to gain insights, inform people strategy execution, and drive leadership and organisational effectiveness
- Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence, Employee Relations, Talent, Reward, and People Services teams to deliver integrated people solutions to support the change
- Partner with business and HR leaders to ensure effective change management strategies are in place, minimizing disruption and supporting people through transitions
- Drive programme governance, monitor delivery against milestones, and provide clear reporting and insights to support decision making

What We’re Looking For
Key Skills & Experience
- Significant experience of planning & delivering large scale organisational change projects
- Proven ability to influence and challenge senior leaders, building credibility and trust to drive strategic people outcomes
- Strong expertise of UK organisational change, workforce transformation, employment legislation and HR governance frameworks
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, including the ability to navigate highly sensitive and complex situations
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while managing multiple priorities and stakeholders
- Skilled in project leadership, ensuring successful delivery of transformation objectives against agreed outcomes and timelines

Qualifications & Experience:
- Extensive HR Business Partnering experience, including significant experience supporting organisational transformation and business change within the UK.
- Proven track record of leading large scale restructuring, organisational design, and workforce transformation initiatives
- Deep understanding of organisational effectiveness, change leadership, employee consultation and employment legislation.
- Strong analytical and digital capability, including the use of HR systems, and workforce analytics
Assignment Details
The role is remote; but may require on site attendance in London.
As this is a remote role, you can be based anywhere in the UK provided you have the legal right to work in the country of residence without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
