Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Human Resources Business Partner to join a dynamic organisation in Barrow-in-Furness. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused HR professional to work closely with senior leaders, driving people strategies that support business objectives and promote a high-performing culture.

As a trusted HR partner, you will provide expert advice, coaching and guidance across a broad range of people matters, helping leaders enhance team performance, develop talent and navigate organisational change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic HR advice and support on people-related matters.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation, acting as a trusted advisor and coach.
  • Support managers in developing leadership capability and enhancing team performance.
  • Drive performance management processes, including performance reviews, calibration activities and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and support employee relations activities, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, policies and best practice.
  • Conduct investigations and provide guidance on complex employee relations cases.
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning and talent management activities.
  • Collaborate on organisational and HR projects, supporting the delivery of people-focused initiatives and programmes.
  • Coordinate HR activities including reward reviews, performance cycles, payroll and reward communications.
  • Support recruitment and resourcing activities, working with external providers and internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse people data and trends to identify opportunities and inform business decisions.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are effectively communicated and consistently applied.
  • Work closely with employees and managers to improve engagement, morale, productivity and retention.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Significant experience in a senior HR Business Partnering position.
  • Strong knowledge across multiple HR disciplines including Employee Relations, Reward, Resourcing, HR Operations and Learning & Development.
  • A strong understanding of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, including experience influencing senior leaders.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to align people solutions to business objectives.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations matters and organisational change activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data and business needs.
  • Experience coaching and developing leaders to enhance organisational capability.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • CIPD qualification preferred.
