Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity to influence organisational success through expert people partnering, strategic advice and exceptional employee relations support?
We are seeking a credible and proactive HR Partner to join a well-established public sector organisation during an exciting period of organisational development and transformation. This is a highly visible role where you will work closely with senior leaders and managers, providing strategic and operational HR expertise that supports both business objectives and a positive employee experience.
Please note; This role requires a strong in-person presence and the expectation is that you will be based on-site for the majority of your working hours. Full time or 0.8 FTE hours can be considered.
About the Role
As an HR Partner, you will be responsible for supporting senior managers across your allocated business areas on a broad range of people matters, while leading on complex and sensitive employee relations casework. You will provide expert guidance on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management, organisational change and restructuring matters, helping managers navigate challenging situations with confidence and consistency.

Alongside case management, you will use workforce data and insight to identify trends, support workforce planning initiatives and help leaders improve performance, engagement and retention. You will also contribute to organisational projects, policy development and wider people initiatives, ensuring HR practices remain compliant, effective and aligned with strategic priorities.

About You
We are looking for a confident and influential HR professional who can quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders and provide practical, commercially aware and solutions-focused advice.
You will bring:
- Significant experience delivering professional HR services gained within large and complex, unionised public sector organisations.
- Extensive employee relations experience, including successfully managing complex and sensitive casework.
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Experience of partnering, influencing and coaching senior managers through challenging people issues.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational delivery.
- CIPD Level 7, or an equivalent relevant HR qualification, or significant work experience in the field that brings knowledge to that level.
