Outskirts of York
From £48,000 per annum
9-Month Fixed Term Contract (with potential to be extended and/or become permanent)
Hybrid, 1-3 days a week in the office
We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join an exceptional People Team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key period of organisational change while partnering with leaders to deliver impactful people solutions.
The successful candidate will operate as a trusted HR adviser, balancing strategic business partnering with hands-on operational support, whilst playing a key role in delivering significant people-focused projects and organisational change initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
HR Business Partnering
- Partner with senior leaders and managers to provide expert advice, coaching and support on a wide range of people matters.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and develop a deep understanding of business priorities and workforce requirements.
- Provide pragmatic solutions aligned to organisational objectives and people strategy.
- Support managers with complex employee relations matters and people challenges.
- Use workforce data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with wider People Team colleagues to deliver a seamless employee experience.

Organisational Change & Projects
- Lead and support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, organisational design and consultation processes.
- Ensure employment law, equality and organisational risks are appropriately managed.
- Develop and deliver project plans, governance structures and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Support leaders and colleagues through periods of change and transformation.
- Evaluate project outcomes and embed lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.
About You
- Ideally you will be CIPD Level 5 qualified or above.
- Significant experience in a generalist HR Business Partner or People Partner role.
- Previous experience supporting organisational change programmes.
- Strong employment law knowledge and practical application.
- Experience working within a unionised environment.
- Proven project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence, challenge and coach managers at all levels.
- Strong analytical capability with experience using people data to inform decision-making.
- A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
