HR Business Partner
Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Working Pattern: Full-time or Part-time
Salary: Competitive £60k to £70k DOE + Excellent Benefits
Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional HR Business Partner role.
We are recruiting an experienced, commercially minded HR Business Partner to join a successful and rapidly growing services business headquartered in the West Midlands. The business currently employs approximately 300 people across the UK and has ambitious plans to grow to more than 500 employees over the next 18 months, through a combination of organic growth and further acquisitions. As the business enters this next stage of its journey, we are looking for an HR professional who can help shape, develop, and professionalize the people function, creating the structure and best practice required to support a much larger organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and working closely with the senior leadership team, you will have genuine autonomy to influence the people strategy and make a visible impact across the organization.
We welcome applications from candidates seeking either a full-time or part-time opportunity.
The Role
As the senior HR lead within the business, you will take responsibility for developing and delivering a people strategy that supports the business' ambitious growth plans.
A key part of the role will be supporting the business acquisition strategy, particularly the people aspects of acquisitions, TUPE, employee integration, and organizational change.
You will also review and enhance the existing HR infrastructure, introducing consistent and scalable processes across the business while ensuring the business retains the entrepreneurial culture that has contributed to its success.
This is a role for someone comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with the Chief Commercial Officer and senior leadership team to shape and deliver the people strategy
- Leading the HR and people aspects of acquisitions and post-acquisition integration
- Supporting TUPE transfers and organizational change
- Integrating employees, cultures, processes, and systems following acquisitions
- Reviewing and improving HR policies, procedures, and frameworks
- Developing scalable HR processes capable of supporting a rapidly growing organization
- Supporting organizational design, succession planning, and workforce planning
- Developing approaches to performance management, talent development, and employee engagement
- Supporting managers to develop high-performing teams
- Managing complex employee relations matters
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
- Improving HR reporting and the use of people data
- Supporting recruitment for key appointments across the business
- Helping create a positive, consistent employee experience across a multi-site organization

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
