Role: HR Business Partner
Location: Sheffield (Hybrid – 2 days per week in office)
Contract: 4 months initial contract
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner for an initial 4-month contract based in Sheffield. Partnering closely with business leaders, this generalist role requires a well-rounded HR professional to provide practical guidance across key people management cycles. You will play a crucial role in managing operational employee relations, driving internal resourcing, and coaching leadership through organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations: Take end-to-end ownership of case management, leading and advising on disciplinary hearings, grievances, performance improvement plans, and capability issues in line with company policy.
- Resourcing & Recruitment: Own the candidate lifecycle for assigned business areas—from drafting job adverts and shortlisting CVs to preparing interview criteria, interviewing alongside hiring managers, and delivering feedback.
- Stakeholder Advising & Coaching: Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, coaching managers to build their people management capabilities and foster high-performing, accountable teams.
- Performance & Engagement: Support delivery of annual performance cycles, drive engagement initiatives, and collaborate on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) goals across the unit.
- Change Support: Provide operational support during restructuring, role redesigns, and process updates to ensure smooth transitions.

Essential Requirements

- Sector Background: Proven experience working within Financial Services or Professional Services.
- Employee Relations Expertise: Hands-on track record managing disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters.
- Recruitment Capability: Direct, hands-on experience delivering end-to-end resourcing as an active component of your HR role.
- Location: Ability to work on-site in Sheffield 2 days per week.
Desirable Criteria
- CIPD qualification or degree-level education.
- Working knowledge of FCA regulatory expectations (e.g., SMCR, conduct rules, and compliance culture).
