Experienced HR Business Partner

Here at Alexander Steele Recruitment we continue to work with a successful and growing food manufacturing business in Hertfordshire. We are currently supporting them with the recruitment for an experienced HR Business Partner.

This is a broad, hands-on HR role where you’ll work closely with managers and senior stakeholders across the site, supporting the day-to-day people agenda while also taking ownership of key HR projects, change initiatives and talent development.

It would suit someone who enjoys being visible within the business, building strong relationships across operational teams and providing practical, commercially focused HR support.

The role

As HR Business Partner, you’ll support managers across the full employee lifecycle while helping to develop a positive, high-performing and engaging workplace. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing advice and coaching to managers across employee relations, absence, performance and wider people matters
  • Managing complex ER cases and ensuring managers are confident and consistent in their approach
  • Leading and supporting organisational change, including restructures and redundancy processes
  • Taking ownership of recruitment activity across the site, from attraction through to onboarding
  • Working with leaders on performance reviews, succession planning and talent development
  • Delivering HR projects designed to improve the employee experience and ways of working
  • Supporting engagement, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Using HR data and systems to identify trends and help inform people decisions
  • Building strong relationships across the business and acting as a trusted HR partner to managers and senior stakeholders

The original role places particular emphasis on recruitment, business partnering, organisational change, talent development, EDI, wellbeing and HR project delivery.

What are we looking for?

I’d be keen to speak with HR professionals who have:

  • A strong HR generalist background with experience operating at HR Business Partner level or similar
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law
  • Strong experience managing complex employee relations cases
  • Confidence working with and influencing managers and senior stakeholders
  • Experience supporting recruitment, performance management and organisational change
  • Good HR systems and data capability
  • The ability to work at pace within a busy, operational environment
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience
  • Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
