HR Business Partner | Financial Services | London

Catalyst Partners is working with a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join its London-based team. This is a strategic and commercially focused position, partnering with senior business leaders to deliver people initiatives that support organisational performance, employee engagement, and long-term growth.

This role offers broad exposure across business partnering, organisational design, talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, and business transformation. This opportunity would suit an experienced HR professional who enjoys operating as a trusted advisor, influencing senior stakeholders, and driving people strategy within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement people strategies aligned to business objectives and growth plans.
  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, organisational effectiveness, and employment legislation.
  • Support workforce planning, organisational design, succession planning, and talent development initiatives across key business areas.
  • Coach and influence managers on leadership, employee engagement, culture, and people-related decision-making.
  • Lead and support change management and transformation projects, ensuring people considerations are effectively managed throughout the process.
  • Utilise people data, management information, and workforce insights to identify trends and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Collaborate with specialist HR teams across recruitment, reward, learning and development, and diversity and inclusion to deliver key people objectives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of HR policies, processes, and programmes to support business performance.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded HR professional with proven experience operating in a business partnering capacity within financial services or another regulated environment. They will have a strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and delivering impactful people solutions that drive organisational success.

Key requirements include:

  • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner within financial services, banking, asset management, insurance, fintech, or a similarly regulated sector.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law, employee relations, and HR best practice.
  • Demonstrable experience partnering with senior stakeholders and providing commercially focused people advice.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, transformation programmes, workforce planning, and talent management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using people data and insights to support business decisions.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • CIPD qualification, or equivalent HR qualification, would be advantageous.
