HR Business Partner (Permanent)

📍 Bank, London | Hybrid (3 days on-site) | Up to £55,000 + Discretionary Bonus

About the Business

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established international organisation to recruit an HR Business Partner for their London headquarters. Part of a globally recognised shipping and logistics group, this business operates across Europe and Africa and plays a key role in supporting complex international operations spanning shipping, logistics, transportation and infrastructure. With approximately 150 employees in the UK, the London office offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, professional and people-focused environment where HR is valued as a genuine business partner.

The Opportunity

You'll act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across the UK business, providing practical and commercially focused HR support across the full employee lifecycle. This role offers a blend of employee relations, business partnering, recruitment, talent development and HR projects, making it ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys variety and stakeholder engagement. The organisation is also currently implementing a new HRIS and driving significant process improvement and automation initiatives, giving the successful candidate exposure to transformation and change projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, absence and workplace conflict.
  • Partner with managers and leaders to provide commercially focused HR advice and support.
  • Support end-to-end recruitment activities, onboarding and induction processes.
  • Assist with performance management, talent development and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support annual salary and bonus review processes.
  • Partner with stakeholders on organisational change and restructuring activities.
  • Contribute to HR projects, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Analyse HR data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the ongoing implementation and optimisation of the new HR system.

About You

We're keen to speak with HR professionals who enjoy a broad, hands-on generalist role and are confident building relationships across all levels of a business. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
  • Strong employee relations experience with the ability to manage cases independently.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Exposure to learning, development, engagement or talent initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • Confidence using HR systems and HR data.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or currently working towards).
